We value your privacy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the bearnorthdigital.com Website (the “Website”) operated by Bear North Digital LLC, a limited liability company formed in Wisconsin, United States (“us,” “we,” “our”).
Your access to and use of the Website is conditional upon your acceptance of and compliance with this Privacy Policy. It applies to everyone who accesses or uses the Website, including visitors and users.
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of it, please do not use the Website.
What information we collect
We collect two kinds of information: what you give us, and what is collected automatically while you browse.
Information you give us. When you submit a form on this Website we collect the fields you complete. Depending on the form, that includes:
- Your name;
- Your email address;
- Your phone number;
- Your company name, website, trade and service area;
- A shipping address, if you request a physical copy of our book;
- Anything you type into a free-text field.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Website we and the third-party services listed below collect:
- Your IP address;
- Your browser, device and operating system;
- The pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and how you arrived;
- Your interactions with the page, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, which are recorded as described under Session recording below;
- The referring website, search term or advertisement that brought you here.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide the services or materials you requested;
- Provide customer service and support;
- Measure which pages, campaigns and advertisements work, and improve the Website;
- Show you advertising on other platforms, including Meta, and measure whether it worked;
- Send you marketing communications, which you can stop at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us;
- Enforce our Terms of Service, resolve disputes and meet our legal obligations.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
We do share it with the service providers we use to run this business. They may process it only to provide their service to us. They are:
- Meta Platforms. The Meta pixel loads on every page and reports your visit and any form submission to Meta, which we use for advertising and measurement.
- Microsoft Clarity. Loads on every page and records your session, including clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, so we can see how pages are actually used.
- HighLevel and Omniascend. Our customer relationship and marketing platform. It receives the information you submit on a form, together with the page and campaign you came from, and it loads a tracking script on every page.
- Stripe. Processes payments if you buy from us. Stripe collects your payment details directly. We never see or store your card number.
- Google. We advertise on Google. Google reports aggregate advertising performance to us.
- Flywheel and Cloudflare. Our website host and content delivery network, which process your IP address and request data in order to serve the Website.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores in your browser. This Website and the services listed above use cookies and similar technologies to recognise returning visitors, measure traffic, and attribute enquiries to the advertisement or search that produced them.
We do not currently use a cookie consent banner. Cookies and the tracking described above are set when you load the Website. If you do not want them, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use your browser’s private browsing mode. Most browsers accept cookies by default. Blocking them may stop parts of the Website working.
You can opt out of Meta’s advertising uses in your Meta account settings, and opt out of interest-based Google advertising at adssettings.google.com.
Session recording
Microsoft Clarity records your session on this Website, which means your clicks, scrolling and mouse movement are captured and played back to us as a recording of the page. This is used to find usability problems. Clarity masks text you type into form fields by default. Do not enter information in a free-text field that you would not want recorded.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as we have a relationship with you and for as long afterwards as we need them for our legal and accounting obligations. Analytics and session data are kept according to each provider’s retention period. You can ask us to delete your information as described below.
Your choices
You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop sending you marketing. Contact us using the details at the end of this policy and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children’s privacy
This Website is intended for a general business audience and we do not offer services to children. If we learn that someone under 18 has sent us personal information, we will use it only to tell them they cannot use this Website, and then delete it.
Third-party websites
This Website contains links to websites operated by others, including client websites and our own mockups. We provide them for your reference. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies.
Do Not Track
Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your browser. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, and we do not currently respond to it.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may amend this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated version to this page and change the date below.
Questions
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to make a request about your information, contact us at [email protected] or call (218) 216-8692.
